Government Relations
Amadeus advises on engaging with foreign governments, regulatory bodies and multilateral institutions on sanctions policy, counter-narcotics frameworks, AML compliance, capital markets regulation and environmental policy. Our government relations practice encompasses five regions: Latin America, the United States, the United Kingdom, ECOWAS and ASEAN. Where engagements require specialist regulatory or lobbying expertise, we work in conjunction with best-in-class partners in the relevant jurisdiction, ensuring seamless delivery.
In Latin America, we have advised heads of state, presidential administrations, ministers and private actors on sanctions compliance, counter-narcotics policy, bilateral diplomatic positioning and international legal exposure.
In Washington, we have established a network which allows us to navigate the labyrinth of the U.S. regulatory framework across executive and legislative branches. We have represented heads of states, diplomatic agents and UHNWIs and in a recent case achieved a full presidential pardon.
In West Africa and ECOWAS, we advise governments and private actors on international regulatory scrutiny across AML and developing frameworks for establishing nature-based solutions for combating environmental degradation.
Across ASEAN, we have worked with state-linked corporations and private actors negotiating and restructuring debt, raising capital with exit through public markets.
From our London base, we advise on the UK's autonomous sanctions under the SAMLA 2018 framework.
